As the land to the west of the Nile dried out,people drifted nearer and nearer the river leaving behind stone circles now regarded as Neolithic.

The Nile floods every year ,the water full of nutrients so that the strips of land either side are fertile.More fertile than that needed for grazing and nomadic peoples settled planting crops.By the time of the Ancient Egyptians a civilisation had started.
Labour was organised for food needs and by about 3000bc and the building of pyramids the population reached a million .
