Red light wavelength 700nm scatted by particles of about the same size . Violet scatters much wider . Scattering goes as λ ( wavelength ) to the power of four . 7.7.7.7/4.4.4.4=49.49/16.16=2500/256 =9.75 Violet scatters about ten times as much as red light .
